The Founder’s Circle is a continuing education leadership network that meets virtually, approximately 6–7 times a year—to share ideas, discuss emerging trends in nursing, and engage with national and global leaders. Marian K. Shaughnessy’s vision for an academy to prepare nurse leaders was born of her own experience as a nurse, which spanned bedside to boardroom. She saw that nurses were in positions to make change but often not empowered or prepared to do so. It is in the spirit of empowerment that the Founder’s Circle was created to connect with national and global networks of nursing leaders; and to contribute to advancing the influence and visibility of nurses in healthcare. Continuing Education (CE) credits are available.

Future Plans
Our future plans focus on intentionally growing our community by increasing membership among passionate healthcare leaders while strengthening engagement with alumni, fellows and graduates. Central to this effort is expanding the Founder’s Circle as a premier networking platform—one that offers meaningful connections, shared learning, and opportunities for professional advancement. By elevating the visibility and value of this network, we aim to create compelling engagement opportunities for individuals who are considering joining the Founder’s Circle, demonstrating its impact as a dynamic forum for leadership collaboration. Additionally, we will introduce themed, interactive sessions and open select opportunities to students, fostering an inclusive, intergenerational environment where emerging and experienced professionals can connect, learn and grow together.
