Once the search committee has made its recommendations and the hiring supervisor is ready to move forward, it is very important to complete three reference checks. Questions for a reference check can be found on the CWRU HR website.
If the references are favorable and you would like to continue to move forward, contact your employment specialist. They will begin the pre-employment process with the candidate, including a background check and degree verification. They will help determine the appropriate salary (taking internal equity and budget into account) and present the offer to the candidate. Contact Student Affairs Operations - Finance if you need any assistance in establishing a salary for your candidate.
When the finalist has accepted the position, the HR employment specialist will send out an offer letter and copy the hiring supervisor and the HRA.
Please note, an offer cannot be made until all internal applicants who meet the minimum qualifications are at least phone screened and the position is given approval from OIDEO if it is underutilized for minorities or women and the candidate does not meet that qualification.
