Deadlines and research opportunities from the Undergraduate Research Office

There are several deadlines approaching for both Intersections registration and summer research funding. Additionally, if you’re looking to explore research or internships in healthcare, the Undergraduate Research Office (URO) is hosting information sessions to help you identify opportunities, answer questions and apply.

Intersections registration

  • Capstone registration: Friday, March 8
  • Capstone abstract submission: Friday, March 22
  • Non-capstone registration and abstract submission: Friday, March 22

Summer research funding

March 8 is the deadline for two undergraduate research funding applications: 

  • All CWRU undergraduate students conducting research in the arts, humanities or social sciences are eligible for SOURCE-AHSS summer funding.  
  • All CWRU undergraduate students conducting research in issues of energy and sustainability across a breadth of disciplines can apply for SOURCE-SURES funding. 

All students must have a faculty mentor for their proposed projects.

Information sessions

Undergraduate research for pre-med students: finding it and understanding its value

Hear from the associate directors in the Undergraduate Research Office and healthcare the Career Center about how to find undergraduate research that will enhance your application to medical school.

This virtual session will take place on Thursday, March 21, from 7 to 8:15 p.m.

University Hospitals clinical research and other internship opportunities for summer and fall

Join the University Hospitals' Clinical Research Center for a discussion on internships and clinical research opportunities for college students. In this session, specialists will discuss what clinical research is, the ongoing research at University Hospitals, and how you can get involved with either research or our administrative positions in the Clinical Research Center. Attendees will get a chance to look over the job board and learn some tips and tricks on applying.
