Are you planning to take one or more courses at another college or university this summer? You will need to complete an off-campus study request form. Note that any courses taken outside of the United States or presented on an international transcript will need to be reviewed by the Office of Education Abroad and follow a different, earlier timeline.
The recommended deadline is April 1, but later forms will be accepted. By submitting the form well in advance of your summer enrollment at another institution, you will receive a guarantee of how the courses will transfer back to your CWRU academic record.
When filling out the off-campus study request form, complete the following steps:
- Page 1: Review the list of regulations for off-campus study. We recommend that you meet with your four-year advisor in advance to discuss the policy and process, and how these courses fit into your overall academic plans.
- Page 2:
- Fill in your information, as well as the institution and course details. You may need to leave some information blank if you are having multiple off-campus options reviewed for the same course.
- Present the form along with syllabi and other course content to the academic representative of the department that teaches the subject at CWRU. The representative will determine course equivalency and sign the form.
- Page 3: Sign the form and obtain the signature of your academic advisor, who will answer any questions of how this course will count toward your major requirements.
Submit: Send the completed form to Undergraduate Advising Support by April 1, to assure final approval before the summer term begins.
Off-campus study request forms can be submitted directly to your four-year advisor, to ugadvisingsupport@case.edu, or in-person in Sears 340.
