Canvas Ally and Accessible Formatting in Canvas

Canvas Ally is a helpful tool that works with Canvas to make your courses more accessible to everyone. It gives you a score that shows how accessible your course materials are. In this demonstration, we will show you simple steps to improve accessibility, like adding descriptions to images and organizing your content with clear headings, lists, and tables.

Accessible Google Docs

We will discuss how to incorporate accessibility best practices when formatting your Google Docs. We will cover the importance of heading structure, accessible color combinations, and how to check for any accessibility issues with Grackle. Accessible Color Combinations

We will highlight the importance of using colors that stand out from each other in your documents and presentations. By sharing examples of color combinations that are easy to read and those that are hard to see, we’ll show how these choices can impact how people understand the information.

Writing Academic Alt Text

We will also be discussing alternative text and its application in an academic setting. We will provide examples of academic graphics, including photos, diagrams, and graphs, along with explanations on how to write alt text for each type. Learn how to write alt text for any academic graphic you encounter.
