Active Learning Environments
The Active Learning Environments at CWRU transform traditional classrooms using modern spatial arrangement and technology to promote a pedagogical shift toward active learning, collaboration, information access, assessment, and instruction delivery.
Ally for Canvas
Blackboard Ally for Canvas works seamlessly with all Canvas courses to gauge the accessibility of instructor content. Ally provides guidance and tips for lasting improvements to content accessibility, as well as allowing for alternative file formats to be generated.
Audience Response Systems
Audience Response Systems are used in-class to get immediate responses from an audience. They are used to add interactivity to lessons, engage with students, and collect feedback from large groups.
Canvas is the Learning Management System at CWRU. Canvas lets instructors share content with students via online course sites and creates a place for collaboration and communication.
Course + Instructional Design
TLT works with instructors to create, redesign, or adapt courses that accomplish course goals as defined by the instructor. Our team is composed of several Instructional Designers who not only specialize in creating efficient, effective, and engaging course experiences, but are well-versed on pedagogical principles.
MediaVision Courseware enables students to watch video of previous lectures or review sessions online. Students can access course recordings through their class site on Canvas and have the option of viewing the videos on mobile devices.
Google Apps offer flexible tools to help you connect and collaborate with others, store information in the cloud, and be more productive on the web. As a G Suite for Education partner, CWRU has access to 30+ Google Apps!
iTunes U allows instructors to build and distribute courses to users across the globe. Students can access course materials through the iTunes U app, available exclusively on Apple devices.
We are dedicated to supporting online learning at Case Western Reserve University, including distance, hybrid, and in-person courses. Receive a world-class education without having to leave the comfort of your home!
Secure Online Testing
While engaged in remote instruction, it may be necessary for students to take course exams online. We have secure options available for online tests!
Technology Enhanced Classrooms
Technology Enhanced Classrooms (TECs) are available in classrooms at CWRU. TECs provide the tools need to give lectures and student presentations, to display multimedia and web-enabled information, and to access tools and resources available beyond the four walls of the traditional classroom.
Video + Screencasting
Whether you wish to create screen captures, videos for your flipped classroom, or custom content, TLT can help!
Zoom is an online conferencing tool that can be used to connect distance learning classes, bring-in special guests, or hold online office hours. A great resource for connecting with others across the University and the world!
