Online Programs Manager, Office of Professional Programs, Case School of Engineering

When I started my employment at CWRU in 2022, I was blown away by the quantity, quality and diversity of the wellness programs that are available to all employees. No previous employer that I have worked for has offered anything like what our Wellness Program provides. Thanks to this program I have tried out Tai Chi, worked on core strength building, joined a book club, learned useful mindfulness techniques and practices, participated in team walking challenges, and more. The experience of participating in these programs is always enhanced when I'm doing it with one or more person/people that I know. When I've signed up for an activity with a colleague I can, for example, talk about where they went for a walk to get their steps in yesterday evening, or commiserate over how sore our hamstrings still are after a HIIT course, and sometimes it can open up the door to have meaningful conversations about health and wellness issues that are affecting us or our loved ones. As a Wellness Champion my goal is to encourage and assist others to find activities that excite and challenge them to grow, and hopefully make some new friends along the way.
