Mary Ann brings both university and corporate wellness experience to her role at CWRU. A University of Dayton communications grad, she started her wellness career as an assistant for the just formed wellness initiative at John Carroll University. Later she worked as a Wellness Specialist at the Progressive Corporation assisting with programming from ergonomic training, to lunch and learns, to health fairs and more. While working at Progressive, Dobbins earned her Master’s degree in Exercise Science and Sports Management at Cleveland State University.
A lover of sport and fitness, Dobbins decided to focus on the exercise side of wellness. She worked as an Exercise Physiologist at the Duke Diet and Fitness Center in Durham, NC and later moved over to work in the Recreation and Physical Education department at Duke University. Starting as a part time trainer, she was promoted to Personal Training Manager and then Fitness Director.
