In conjunction with the Benefits & Wellness Fair, the Wellness Program will offer the following at the TVUC on Nov. 4.
Gratitude That Works: Practical Strategies for Well-being, Connection, and Resilience
Gratitude can be easy to dismiss as something we practice when life is going well. But when work is demanding, schedules are packed, and uncertainty is high, what we choose to notice can have a real impact on our well-being and our relationships with others. Gratitude doesn't mean ignoring what's difficult or pretending everything is fine. It means becoming more intentional about recognizing what's working, who's making a difference, and what we might otherwise take for granted.
During this engaging program, Lisa Ryan, CSP, will share practical ways to make gratitude part of everyday life without turning it into forced positivity. Attendees will discover simple strategies to shift their focus, strengthen connections, show meaningful appreciation, and build habits that support greater well-being at work and beyond.
Participants will learn:
- Simple strategies for shifting attention toward what's working, helping reduce the tendency to dwell on frustrations, stress, and everything that still needs to get done.
- Practical ways to express meaningful appreciation that strengthen relationships and help the people around you feel seen, valued, and acknowledged.
- Tools for using gratitude during challenging moments without minimizing problems, forcing positivity, or pretending everything is fine.
- Everyday gratitude habits that support greater connection, resilience, and well-being at work and in life.
Gratitude isn't about ignoring what's difficult. It's about training yourself to notice what's working, who matters, and what you don't want to take for granted.
In-person only, from 12-1 pm in the TVUC Senior Classroom on Wednesday, Nov. 4
