Program Eligibility

What is a Wellness Participant?

A Wellness Participant is a CWRU faculty or staff member with Benelect medical plan coverage who met the participation requirements by completing a biometric screening, health risk assessment and tobacco attestation form. Wellness Participants are eligible to earn up to $200 with completion of two wellness programs. Wellness participants must be employed by the university through December of each year to receive the Wellness Program Incentive.

To be eligible for the annual Wellness Program Incentive, you must be a Wellness Participant—defined as a CWRU faculty or staff member with Benelect medical plan coverage who met the participation requirements which are typically:

1. Completion of the health risk assessment,

2. And completion of two of these three activities:

Wellness participants must be employed by the university through December to receive the Wellness Program Incentive for that calendar year. All program incentives paid will be taxable. All program participation needs to be completed by the end of Benelect Open Enrollment each year.

All benefits-eligible faculty and staff may participate in select programs, even if they are not part of the Benelect plan, but will not receive monetary incentives.

All participants should confer with their health care providers before beginning any wellness program and should obtain approval from their health care provider before participation. Wellness program participants waive liability against the university for any damage or injury they may incur as a result of their participation in this voluntary program.
