As the fall semester quickly approaches, we are looking forward to hosting the 2021 White Coat Ceremony in person on Thursday, August 5.
The Class of 2025 event will be held at 9 a.m. and the Class of 2024 will celebrate at 2 p.m. in the Samson Pavilion Jack, Joseph and Morton Mandel Conference Center. Due to capacity limitations, the auditorium event will be for students and faculty only. However, there will be viewing rooms available in Samson Pavilion for families to watch a livestream of the ceremony. Friends and family who are unable to visit campus are also invited to join in the festivities virtually from wherever they are. A link will be made available in the days leading up to the event.
For the health and safety of everyone involved, this will be a no-touch ceremony. After reciting the professional oath together, each student will be invited to come up front to don their coat and have their photograph taken.
Following the ceremony, there will be light refreshments offered near the end of the SIM lab. Students will have the opportunity to guide their guests around Samson Pavilion and take photos in the photo booth located in the Winter Garden.
As we prepare for this notable milestone, we also want to shine a light on our Class of 2024 in recognition of the unprecedented year they navigated through their D1 experience. For those who would like to be included in our upcoming student recognition series, complete this brief questionnaire and submit your favorite professional photo. In the weeks leading up to the Class of 2024 White Coat Ceremony, feature articles will be added to the School of Dental Medicine website and highlighted on our Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter and Instagram pages.
