Dental school staff retreat brings fun, food and connection to Samson Pavilion

On Thursday, May 22, the Case Western Reserve University School of Dental Medicine hosted a lively and engaging staff retreat in Samson Pavilion Room 181—an energizing midday break packed with food, fun and festivities.

The day kicked off at 11 a.m., and staff then took part in a variety of games and team-building activities that sparked laughter and camaraderie.

Following a lively BBQ lunch, staff explored a variety of creative activity stations at the retreat. Grace Vibbert led a decoupage class, while others enjoyed a creative writing table and a LEGO building station. Several staff members also showcased their personal artwork, adding a vibrant and inspiring touch to the afternoon. Complete with music by DJ Majette, a photo-op backdrop and plenty of good vibes, the retreat offered something for everyone, reminding the community that celebrating each other is just as important as the work we do.

Staff were also encouraged to share their personal talents—whether it’s painting, crochet or another creative pursuit—as part of an ongoing effort to spotlight the unique skills and passions that make the School of Dental Medicine such a vibrant place to work.

The retreat wrapped by 2:30 p.m., leaving attendees refreshed and recharged with a souvenir cookbook of recipes submitted by staff. Thanks to thoughtful planning and spirited participation, this year’s retreat was more than just a break—it was a joyful reminder of the power of connection.
