The Preceptor Group
Each Preceptor Group Practice is comprised of two Preceptor Faculty Members, a Patient Care Coordinator, and first through fourth year dental students. The first or second year dental students are assigned to a third and fourth year student as their student mentor. The third and fourth year dental students are those who are the primary dentist for the patient.
In addition to the Preceptor faculty, the students have an opportunity to work with additional faculty on a case-by-case basis. These faculty members may come from a variety of specialty areas. Their goal is to give the student more one-on-one attention for patient care that is more complicated and requires closer supervision.
