Gerald Ferretti
Professor and Chair
Dr. Gerald Ferretti is Professor and Chair of the Pediatric Dentistry Department and Chief of Dentistry at Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital at Irving & Jeanne Tapper Pediatric Dental Center, which specializes in the care of children with acute or chronic healthcare needs.
Dr. Ferretti is Board Certified by the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry and has more than 30 years of practice, teaching, and research experience. His special interests include oral manifestations of pediatric oncology therapy, early childhood caries intervention, oral health education for the medical workforce, and health services management research.
Kelsey Stehli
Visiting Assistant Professor
Kelsey Stehli is a board certified pediatric dentist and serves as a visiting assistant professor in CWRU’s department of pediatric dentistry. Kelsey earned her DDS from Ohio State in 2017. After OSU, Kelsey went on to specialize in pediatric dentistry at CWRU where she was a chief resident. When not at CWRU, Kelsey sees children at a private pediatric dental practice in Hudson.
David Rothman
Clinical Associate Professor
David Rothman is a Board Certified Pediatric Dentist in private practice in San Francisco and Associate Clinical Professor at Case Western Reserve University and Medical College of Virginia. He completed residencies in General Practice at Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia, Anesthesia at the Medical College of Pennsylvania and Pediatric Dentistry at Children’s Hospital Oakland and UCSF. He is past Chair of Pediatric Dentistry at the University of the Pacific and has been President of the College of Diplomates of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry and the California Society of Pediatric Dentistry. He is President of the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology. He is a member of OKU, a Fellow of Pierre Fauchard, ICD and ACD as well as a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. He recently was guest editor of 2 issues of the Journal of the California Dental Association on Safety in the Dental Office and chaired the CDA CoVid 19 Clinical Care Workgroup subcommittee on Protocols, Guidance and Training. He lectures and publishes nationally and internationally on pediatric dentistry, safety,anesthesia and sedation.
Jed Best
Clinical Professor
Jed Best received his BA and DDS at Case Western Reserve University, and MS at the University of Minnesota. Past President of the College of Diplomates of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry and Past Chairman of the Foundation of the College of Diplomates. In addition I was a past OCE examiner for the American Board. Presently, I am one of the section editors of the Journal of Pediatric Dentistry and hold the following academic appointments: Clinical Professor at Case School of Dental Medicine; Associate Professor at Columbia University College of Dental Medicine and Instructor at the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Dentistry. Finally, I am board certified in Pediatric Dentistry, a Fellow with the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and a Fellow in both the International and American College of Dentists.
Gerald Samson
Adjunct Associate Professor
Gerry Samson is a 1975 Marquette Dental School graduate and completed his pediatric dental residency in 1979 at Emory Dental school and completed his orthodontic residency in 1981 at Northwestern Dental School. Gerry holds formal university appointments at 7 postgraduate programs, and is a reviewer for the American Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics and The Angle Orthodontist. He lectures extensively at both domestic and international meetings with specific interest in topics such as clinical modification of dentofacial development, age appropriate orthodontic mechanics, compliant/noncompliant behavior and informed consent.
Daniel Gindi
Clinical Assistant Professor
Daniel M Gindi, DMD FAAPD is a Clinical Assistant Professor, Pediatric Dentistry for the Case Western Reserve University School of Dental Medicine. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and Fellow of the International College of Dentists. Dr. Gindi completed his undergraduate work at John Carroll University in University Heights, Ohio. He earned his doctorate of dental medicine at University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine, and earned specialty certification in pediatric dentistry from University Hospitals Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital. He maintains a private practice in the Greater Cleveland area.
Sarah Milo
Clinical Assistant Professor
Sarah Milo is a clinical assistant professor in Case Western Reserve University’s Department of Pediatric Dentistry . She received her doctorate from West Virginia University School of Dentistry and obtained her certificate in Pediatric Dentistry from CWRU and Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital. She is currently the program director of the Pediatric Dentistry department at MetroHealth Hospital.
Tuka Sada
Visiting Instructor
Dr. Tuka Sada is an instructor for the Case Western Reserve University Department of Pediatric Dentistry. She is a graduate from the University of Kalamoon School of Dentistry in Syria with an internship in general dentistry. Dr. Sada completed a research fellowship in orthodontics at Case Western Reserve University and she is currently finishing up her residency training in pediatric dentistry at Case Western Reserve University and University Hospitals Rainbow babies and children. Dr. Sada is the main dentist responsible for the CWRU pediatric dental outreach program in the northeast Ohio area.
John Gerstenmaier Jr.
Visiting Professor
Dr. John Gerstenmaier Jr. graduated from Adelbert College at Western Reserve University in 1967 where he then went on to graduate from Northwestern University’s Dental School in Chicago in 1971. He spent two years post-graduation in the Indian Health Services in Chamberlain, South Dakota with the Lower Brule and Sioux Indians. It was here Dr. Gerstenmaier decided to pursue pediatric dentistry and complete the pediatric dentistry residency program at Case Western Reserve University in 1975. He has had a private practice in Akron since finishing his residency as well as being a visiting professor for Case Western Reserve University’s School of Dental Medicine.
Pam Martin
Visiting Instructor
Pamela Martin, DDS is a Visiting Instructor in the Department of Pediatric Dentistry at Case Western Reserve University School of Dental Medicine. She earned her dental degree from Case in 1994, and went on to complete a General Practice Residency at MetroHealth St. Luke’s Medical Center. She started clinical instruction in 2020, after more than 25 years in private practice where she concentrated on treating children in an Amish community.
Kelly Kirtland

Kelly Kirtland, DDS, MS, MA, MBA is the Chief of the Division of Pediatric Dentistry at University Hospitals Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital and clinical assistant professor of pediatric dentistry, Case Western Reserve University School of Dental Medicine. She is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry and a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. She was appointed to the UH Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital staff in August 2022 after a career in private practice and academia.
Ying An
Visiting Assistant Professor
Ying An DDS, PhD is a visiting assistant professor in the Department of Pediatric Dentistry at Case Western Reserve University and the director of UH Rainbow Ahuja Center for Women and Children dental clinic. She received her DDS and PhD degrees from the Ohio State University in 2016 and certificate in pediatric dentistry in 2018. She became an American Pediatric Dentistry Board certified dentist in 2019. Her primary interests are in teaching the pediatric dental residency program and doing research related to various pediatric dentistry topics.
Yasser Armanazi
Clinical Associate Professor
Yasser Armanazi, DDS is a clinical associate professor with the pediatric dentistry department at Case Western Reserve University. He received his first dental degree in Syria in 1991 and a year later in 1992 became an American National Dental Board certified dentist. Dr. Armanazi went on to complete his residency in pediatric dentistry at the University of Tennessee, Nashville in 1996, and in 2002, completed his second dental degree at Case. Since then, Yasser runs a private practice in Mentor, OH, serves as a diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, and is an active faculty and staff member at University Hospitals Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital.
Maria Botros

Maria Botros, D.D.S. is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatric Dentistry at Case Western Reserve University School of Dental Medicine. She completed her Bachelor of Science at Xavier University in 2013 and received her D.D.S. from The Ohio State University College of Dentistry in 2017.She completed pediatric dentistry residency at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center in 2019.She is a diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry and a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. She is passionate about teaching the next generation of pediatric dentists and working to improve access to oral health care.

Dr. Margaret Ferretti is Assistant Professor and Program Director of the Pediatric Dental Residency. She earned her D.M.D, certificate in Pediatric Dentistry, and M.P.H from Case Western Reserve University. She is Board Certified by the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. Her special interests include early childhood caries intervention and public health outreach.
Sarah Curry

Sarah Curry is a clinical assistant professor in the Pediatric Department and is a graduate of Case Western Reserve University. Dr. Curry served in the United States Air Force before deciding to return to her passion for working with children. She completed her pediatric residency at CWRU/Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital.
Theodore Croll
Clinical Professor
Theodore P. Croll, DDS is Clinical Professor of Pediatric Dentistry at Case Western School of Dental Medicine and a diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. He is in private practice with Cavity Busters, PC, in Doylestown, Pennsylvania. He completed his pediatric dentistry residency at the University of Connecticut in 1978, Dr. Croll has contributed over 330 articles regarding clinical dentistry, opinion pieces, and the history of dentistry to the dental literature.

Cynthia Thomas
Clinical Assistant Professor
Cynthia D. Thomas, DMD, is a clinical assistant professor of CWRU Department of Pediatric Dentistry and assistant professor of University Hospitals. She is a 2014 graduate of the University of Kentucky School of Dentistry where she obtained her DMD degree. As a National Health Service Corps scholarship recipient, Dr. Thomas served as a general dentist upon graduation in an underserved community for almost 5 years. She then went on to graduate from NYU Langone's Advanced Education in Pediatric Dentistry Residency Program in 2021. Dr. Thomas is a board certified pediatric dentist and is proud to serve the community of Cleveland, OH.
Eric Yoskovich
Clinical Assistant Professor
Dr. Eric Yoskovich is a board-certified pediatric dentist through the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. He attended the University of Michigan School of Dentistry and graduated in 2018. After earning his DDS, he attended The University of Toledo’s Pediatric Dentistry residency and completed his master’s degree in Oral Biology, where he received invaluable experience and training treating many children. Dr. Eric is a proud member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, American Dental Association, Ohio Dental Association, and he is board certified by the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry.
