Medications over Summer Break
As you are preparing for the end of the school year, we want to make sure you have plans for care and medication refills for the summer break. If not already scheduled, now is a good time to schedule a final appointment for the academic year with your UHCS provider to make plans for the summer months.
Before you head out of town, please make sure that you pack any prescription medications to take with you. If refills are needed, contact NURSE REFILL through myhealthconnect.case.edu on or before May 1st. Students needing care for the summer should also start reaching out to their provider at home to schedule summer follow-up. Students can also contact TimelyCare; TimelyCare medical providers are able to provide short-term refills for most medications. If you are graduating, this is the time to start looking for new providers wherever you will be living. Graduating students can no longer receive care at UHCS after Friday, May 15, 2026.
For students who are prescribed ADHD medications (such as Adderall, Concerta, and Vyvanse) by a UHCS provider:
Prior to leaving for the summer, please ensure that you have filled your ADHD medication – and that you pack the medication to take with you. ADHD medications cannot be transferred between pharmacies, UHCS cannot send prescriptions for ADHD medications to pharmacies outside of Ohio, and TimelyCare will not prescribe controlled substances such as stimulants or ADHD medications. Most insurance companies will allow a 1-time 90-day Travel Supply of your stimulant medication. If this will not be enough of your stimulant for the summer, please be sure to arrange for care in your summer location.
Please contact uhcs@case.edu for more information.
