Julie DeJager, MA, was named Deputy Associate Director for Administration for the Case Comprehensive Cancer Center effective May 1, 2021.
As the Deputy Associate Director, Julie is responsible for developing implementation strategies, advising on matters of operational feasibility, providing programmatic and developmental research support, and overseeing activities of the Cancer Center Support Grant (CCSG). Working directly with John Pounardjian, MBA, Associate Director for Administration, she provides organizational oversight for research space, shared resources, research programs, CCSG funds, pilot grants, various national activities, information services, and other operational activities of the cancer center. Julie works with administrators across the consortium institutions to implement seamless administrative services to achieve the goals and strategies of the Case CCC.
Julie has been part of the cancer center administration team since 2013. She has extensive experience with grants management, process development, and data collection. Prior to being named Deputy Director, Julie served as Manager of Research Administrative Operations for the cancer center, overseeing and managing the collection and organization of all program-related information needs for the center. She also was the lead administrator for the EVAL database, developing processes for data collection and import into the system and designing reports to extract information for CCSG reporting and review.
Julie began her career in research administration as an administrator for the National Science Foundation awards at Seattle Pacific University, where she earned her MA in theology. She gained experience with National Institutes of Health and Department of Defense projects while working at Northwestern University. She currently lives in University Circle with her family.
