To Our Faculty and Staff:
We first want to thank the nearly 2,500 of you who already have uploaded your vaccine cards to the university’s health record system.
This aggregated information helps enormously as we update campus health and safety protocols—not only for this fall, but the summer as well.
One example of data’s impact on decision-making involves the Case Western Reserve’s surveillance testing efforts. In recent weeks, our positivity rate has remained at or close to one tenth of 1 percent, with total cases consistently in the low single digits.
Given these results, we will administer our last surveillance tests in Horsburgh Gymnasium this Friday, May 28. We expect to conduct large-scale COVID-19 testing prior to the start of the fall semester, but meanwhile University Health Services can provide testing to those with symptoms.
