This page includes weekly updates of COVID-19 data for Case Western Reserve, Cuyahoga County and Cleveland.
While the page has been active since the start of the fall 2020 semester, the university has adjusted the presentation of some of the data effective Jan. 12, 2021. Specifically, the top three charts—CWRU’s new positive cases, tests, and positivity rate—now incorporate only surveillance tests and results.
We have made this change because surveillance testing generally aims to identify cases within the broader, asymptomatic population. In short, it provides information regarding the prevalence of COVID-19 in those instances where it is not otherwise evident—e.g. by virtue of people with symptoms or known exposures.
For purposes of transparency, however, the case numbers within the grid boxes below the charts will include data from symptomatic and surveillance testing—as well as self-reported positive cases (e.g. from people tested outside CWRU).
All of these numbers are updated on Tuesdays.
