Oral cancer study underway at CWRU, University Hospitals; new diagnostic test being researched

Researchers at CWRU's School of Dental Medicine and University Hospitals Case Medical Center's Department of Otolaryngology are working together on a pilot study to see the test - measuring the amount of naturally occurring antibacterial proteins in the mouth - can be used to more quickly detect head and neck cancer, including oral cancer, the most common type of head and neck cancer.
