About the Performer

Emma Carson is a 4th-year dual degree student in Music Education and Psychology at CWRU studying violin with Dr. Stephen Sims (CIM). While at CWRU, Emma has been a member of string chamber music, Camerata Chamber Orchestra, and Case/University Circle Orchestra, which she conducted at the October 2023 concert. Emma has served as president of the Ohio Collegiate Music Education Association and is a member of Mu Phi Epsilon. In addition to studying violin, she studies cello with Ida Mercer and double bass with Dr. Kathleen Horvath. Emma would like to thank the CWRU music faculty, especially Dr. Stephen Sims, Dr. Kathleen Horvath, and Ida Mercer for their support. She would also like to thank her past music teachers Dr. Elizabeth Hankins and Patty Mullinax for inspiring her love of music and teaching, and her family for their love and support.
