Congratulations on reaching this exciting stage in your journey toward internship! You have worked so hard to get here, and I hope you feel proud of what you have accomplished along the way.
Internship is such a significant year. It is a time to bring together everything you have learned, discover more about the kind of psychologist you want to be, and continue growing both personally and professionally. As you explore programs, we hope you find a place where you can feel both challenged and supported, as well as where you can be your authentic self.
As Training Director, I feel incredibly passionate and fortunate to be part of interns' journeys during this influential year. One of my greatest responsibilities is ensuring that our interns receive the guidance, supervision, and learning opportunities they need to thrive throughout the internship year. I hope interns leave our program feeling grounded in who they are as clinicians and in their ability to develop meaningful relationships with clients. My goal is to support interns to approach their work with compassion and curiosity, develop confidence and independence, and to trust in their own clinical judgment. I hope to help them deepen their appreciation for the importance of seeing each client as a whole person—shaped by culture, relationships, identity, and lived experience—and to bring that same openness and self-reflection to their own growth and development as clinicians.
As a training site, we embrace a developmental approach within our program. We are deeply committed to the work we do and are grateful for the opportunity to provide clinical services to a unique population of undergraduate, graduate, and professional students. We value teamwork, consultation, and collaboration, and recognize that we do our best work when we can learn, laugh, and be human with one another.
