Looking to apply to the Intensive Summer Education Program in Translational Research for Undergraduate Students (INSPIRE-US program) at Case Western Reserve University? You’ve come to the right place.
Application Requirements
The application deadline is February 2, 2026. The following materials will be needed to complete your application:
- A curriculum vitae or resume
- A one-page personal statement addressing the following questions:
- Why are you interested in a career related to clinical and translational science? Describe specific experiences that fueled this interest.
- In detail, describe the type of research you are interested in doing this summer and what is your “north start” in choosing this topic? If possible, please identify 1-2 labs or teams at CWRU that align with your interests.
- What is your previous research experience? Please speak on specific or relevant skills. If you don’t have much research experience, list other skills that would lend itself to the type of research you want to do.
- How will this program assist you in pursuing a career in clinical and translational science?
- A one-page career development statement addressing the following questions:
- What are your five-year goals?
- What skills do you need to achieve your career goals?
- Why have you chosen your intended/current career path over the many other careers related to clinical and translational science?
- ONE recommendation letter from the applicant’s advisor or other faculty member highlighting the applicant’s interest in pursuing a career in clinical and translational science, enrollment in a degree program, and whether the student is in good standing. Please limit to just one letter of recommendation.
- A copy of an official or unofficial transcript from their current academic institution OR a letter from a faculty advisor vouching for their academic standing.
