System-to-System submission guidance

SpartaGrants has a built-in System-to-System (S2S) portal for the submission of proposals through Grants.gov. This helps to reduce the rejection of proposals due to missing or incorrect information, making it the strongly preferred method of application submissions. Some of the benefits of S2S include:

  • No re-keying
  • Auto-population of CWRU data, including address, UEI (unique entity identifier), etc.
  • Automatic budget calculations
  • More streamlined award set up
  • What you sent is what you have internally (avoids post-submission data entry errors)
  • Data is immediately available for reporting
  • Proposal records can be electronically updated based on institutional business process
  • Consistent user interface for look up and submission status
  • Track institutional data
  • Validations
  • Submission tracking
  • Fewer errors/greater acceptance on first submission

Sometimes, a funding opportunity is not supported by SpartaGrants (e.g. NIH P50, P30, any multi-component grant) or requires an alternate submission method. In those cases, applications should be initiated/submitted in accordance with the funding opportunity guidelines and/or an in an alternate portal (i.e. ASSIST, grants.gov, research.gov, etc).
