Limited Submissions

Limited submission programs are competitive funding opportunities in which Case Western Reserve University is limited in the number of proposals allowed to be submitted in response to the program announcement. Because of this restriction, the CWRU Office of Research and Technology Management (ORTM) has specific guidelines around these awards.

The process laid out below helps ensure effective use of resources and aims to maximize researchers’ chances of success in this highly competitive environment.

Internal Procedures for Applying to Limited Submission Programs

When timing allows, ORTM holds internal competitions to determine which applicants may submit their proposals. These competitions are posted on InfoReady.

There will be instances where a faculty member comes across a limited submission that is not on InfoReady, or where there is not enough time (typically less than 30 days) to hold an internal competition. In those cases, it is necessary for the interested researcher to request approval from limitedsubmission@case.edu in order to submit a proposal for that limited submission. Please include a link or attachment to the opportunity for our review.

In many instances, particularly for foundation limited submissions, support is available for proposal preparation. Reach out to limitedsubmission@case.edu to learn more.

Helpful hint:

  • Be sure to attach your Limited Submission Approval email communication to the funding proposal (FP) in Sparta Grants. This is needed for internal review and for our records.

Active Limited Submission Programs

For currently active limited submissions, go to InfoReady.

ORTM uses InfoReady Review to manage our limited submission opportunities.

InfoReady typically utilizes your CWRU Network ID and password if you have one, but applicants are able to create an account without a CWRU Network ID.
