Training is available for the following areas:
Initial Core Training for HRP Certification
Complete one of the following courses in SpartaLearn, based on the research conducted.

Maintaining Certification
To maintain active certification, researchers must complete training in the four HRP competency areas every three years. If your certification expires and you are removed from the HRP program, you must repeat the initial core training before resuming research.

Required Research Security Training
Case Western Reserve University requires research security training that covers the following areas:
- Cybersecurity
- International Travel Security
- Research Security
- Export Control
- Disclosure of all research activities and affiliations
This training is required for all Senior and Key Personnel involved in funded research.

Required RCR Training
Case Western Reserve University requires Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR) training for individuals supported by research programs funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF) and the National Institutes of Health (NIH).
This includes:
- Undergraduate and graduate students
- Postdoctoral researchers and fellows
- Faculty and senior personnel
- Principal investigators (PIs) and co-investigators (co-PIs)
- NIH-funded graduate students and postdoctoral trainees
