Ann W. Nguyen, PhD is an interdisciplinary scholar who received her doctoral training in psychology and social work from the Program for Research on Black Americans at the University of Michigan's Institute for Social Research. Her research broadly investigates psychosocial determinants of mental, physical, and cognitive health and well-being across the life course among Black Americans, with a special focus on mid- and late life. For example, her research has investigated the effects of social relationships (social support, social isolation, loneliness), religious participation, and discrimination on a range of health and well-being outcomes.
