Julianne M. Foster joined the Jack, Joseph and Morton Mandel School of Applied Social Sciences as a Field Faculty Advisor in August, 2022. Ms. Foster received her MSW from North Carolina State University and her BSSW at The Ohio State University. She has been involved with field education since 2014, where she was a field instructor to numerous MSW students and contributed to the revamping of the social work internship program at Nationwide Children's Hospital. Prior to her position with Case Western, Ms. Foster provided clinical services to people struggling with substance use disorders and mental health disorders; families involved with Child Protective Services; and pediatric and adult patients with chronic and/or terminal medical conditions. Throughout her career, Ms. Foster also contributed to the development of different organizational and/or client-focused programs; presented research findings at local and national conferences; and created or contributed to local and international research projects that focused on substance use disorders, women with high-risk pregnancies; and providing more efficient clinical care in the hospital setting.
