Xiao Ding, PhD, MSSA, LMSW, is a Postdoctoral Scholar in Trauma and Violence Prevention at the Begun Center for Violence Prevention Research and Education at Case Western Reserve University. Xiao has extensive experience working with children, youth, and families from diverse and marginalized backgrounds. Her expertise lies in mental health services for children and families, crisis intervention, brief interventions for high-needs adolescents, and school social work. Xiao’s work has been published in respected peer-reviewed journals such as School Mental Health, Children and Youth Services Review, and Research on Social Work Practice. She has also authored and contributed to several book chapters published by leading academic publishers, including the American Psychological Association and Oxford University Press. Her research has been supported by the Solution-Focused Brief Therapy Association and the Hogg Foundation for Mental Health. During her postdoc at the Begun Center, Xiao is dedicated to continuously advancing the field of violence prevention through identifying and developing the best evidence-based practices and bridging the gap between research and practice in serving vulnerable populations.
