As part of the Mandel School's Erasmus collaboration with Adam Mickiewicz University in Poland, our colleague Natasha Doiczman-Łoboda will present a lecture about her research on migrant families, with a particular focus on the situation of children experiencing separation from their migrant parents.
Natasza Doiczman-Łoboda, PhD in social sciences with a specialization in sociology, is an academic in the faculty of sociology at Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań, where she works within the Department of Social Problems and Social Work.
She is a psychologist, a systemic psychotherapist and the author of numerous academic publications addressing psychosocial issues. Her work has been widely recognized, earning her numerous accolades and awards, including the Polish Ministry of Science and Higher Education Scholarship for outstanding academic achievements, Rector's Scientific Scholarships for doctoral students with exceptional published achievements, and the Individual Rector's Award at Adam Mickiewicz University.
Doiczman-Łoboda has been actively involved in numerous research projects, including international collaborations with institutions such as the Center for Family Studies, the Regional Social Policy Centers in Poznań and Toruń, and the National Science Centre.
Her research focuses on the dynamics of migrant families, perceptions of time, experiences of separation, loneliness and social orphanhood. She leverages her knowledge and skills to assist others, collaborating with various social welfare institutions, including childcare facilities, courts, family assistance centers and regional social policy centers. Currently, she serves as the Dean's Representative for Persons with Disabilities.
The lecture is open to all members of the school community.
