Event Description
This training opportunity is intended for new field instructors and task supervisors hosting a Mandel School student for the first time, as well as for those who have not attended this training in the past two years. The Field Education Department requires all new field instructors participate in this orientation.
The two hour Zoom-based training will focus on providing an overview of the following:
- An orientation to field education within the context of the Mandel School curriculum
- The vital importance of the role of field instructors and task supervisors in the education and professional development of MSW students
- The practicum education system TEVERA, used by students, field Instructors, task supervisors and field faculty
- Field education learning agreements
- Timelines and requirements for students in field education
- Mandel School field education curriculum
- Expectations for field instructors and task supervisors
- Promoting student success through field instruction
- Supporting the integration of social work theory and practice knowledge by students into organizational settings
- Assessment and evaluation of student progress in field education
