Briona Burgos Headshot

In honor of National School Social Work Week March 6–12, we're highlighting one of our recent school social work alums. Briona Burgos, MSSA '21, is a school social worker at a high school in Hilliard, OH, outside of Columbus. As a school social worker, she meets with students individually and in groups, including a female-athlete empowerment group, an anxiety group and a healthy relationship-building group. She also works with her school's staff on projects such as Signs of Suicide, a program to help inform on mental health, and leads workshops on how to help others, offering crisis support and outside referrals to other community agencies. Originally from Cleveland, OH, she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Educational Studies from Hiram College.
