Spectrum News: Robert Fischer, associate professor and co-director of the Center on Poverty and Community Development at the Jack, Joseph and Morton Mandel School of Applied Social Sciences, discussed the City of Cleveland’s plan to criminally prosecute those who have not complied with fixing their homes to make them lead-free. He explained how lead adversely impacts children. “As they get into the teenage years and early adulthood, we see them showing up more frequently in juvenile justice, in homeless shelters, having lower earnings, less high school completion,” he said.
