Transgender and gender diverse (TGGD) populations experience more health disparities than the general lesbian, gay and bisexual (LGB) and the general cis-gender heterosexual population.

A new study conducted by doctoral student Braveheart Gillani provides data regarding the statistically significant differences in preventative screening prevalence within TGGD clients as compared to LGB populations.

The study, published in the International Journal of Community Medicine and Public Health, also provides a series of recommendations for preventative health screenings based upon the organ set of individuals rather than gender identity.
