Gun ownership in the Black community, among women on the rise, researchers say

Begun Professor and director of the Begun Center for Violence Prevention, Research and Education, discussed a shift in national gun ownership trends, showing that more Black women are buying firearms. “There is this perception that everyone has a gun so if you think everybody’s got a gun, and you’re worried about your own safety or family’s safety, then you’re more inclined to go get one yourself,” he said.
