Before beginning at Case Western Reserve University, what were you doing?
I was working as a Drug and Alcohol Counselor Assistant.
Why did you choose CWRU/the Mandel School?
It was almost instinctual for me to apply to the Mandel School. When I got the acceptance letter, I was thrilled and committed right away. I knew that the Master of Social Work program at the Mandel School would be a place that would give me an abundance of opportunities to choose from for field placements.
What are you most looking forward to this semester?
I am looking forward to getting back into shape with my work and writing. I am also looking forward to understanding the research avenue of social work and seeing how it looks at a very well-known institution such as CWRU.
What do you hope to do with your degree?
I hope it opens more doors where I can incorporate my efforts and passions as a social worker. I also plan to pursue a PhD after I get my degree.
What is your favorite thing about CWRU/the Mandel School?
I like that the school is very comforting to go to when I need to get work done. And I love that I am around classmates and faculty members that are very supportive and reliable to go to when I need help.
What is your favorite thing about Cleveland?
So far since moving to Cleveland, I have really liked the atmosphere. I work in downtown Cleveland in the music scene as a part-time gig and it is really fun to immerse myself in the diverse culture that the city offers.
