Social work student’s poster recognized at conference

At the National Association of Social Workers Ohio 2021 Annual Conference in November, doctoral student Sarah Balser won the Graduate Level Poster Session Research Award.

The award recognized her poster on essential workers, titled “A COVID-19 study reveals the importance of childcare.”

Mandel student writes feature story for high-profile social work magazine

Sarah Balser also wrote a feature story for the Winter 2022 NASW Ohio Chapter Magazine. Her story, titled "An interview with Abigail Eiler and Sandra Momper," can be found on Pages 5–8 of the magazine.

In addition, she is writing articles for the Spring and Summer 2022 issues of the NASW Ohio Chapter Magazine. The Spring edition will feature two members of the Mandel School's first-year doctoral program in social welfare cohort; Balser is working with a Mandel School master's student for the Summer edition's article.
