The Office of Cancer Training, Education and Research (OCTER) of the Case Comprehensive Cancer Center (Case CCC) is excited to announce a new opportunity to design, develop and implement a cancer-focused bench-to-bedside retreat. OCTER is looking for graduate and medical students, post-docs, residents and fellows with an interest in cancer research to join the retreat planning committee and help spearhead this effort.
Benefits of planning committee membership:
-
Enhance your CV
-
Develop your leadership and teamwork skills
-
Make new connections within the Case CCC
-
Utilize and build project development, management and implementation skills in a way that can benefit other trainees
-
Have more input into the design of your training experience
OCTER envisions a 3-hour mini-retreat in 2019 to integrate basic and clinical Case CCC trainees to bridge the knowledge gap about cancer research and clinical care. The proposed mini-retreat format is open for your ideas!
Possible retreat components:
-
Invited keynote speaker
-
Peer networking
-
Use of an innovative video abstract submission process, whereby each trainee submits a 90-second video (elevator pitch) about their project; short trainee talks to be selected from the video abstracts
-
Selected presenters and award-winning video abstracts to be highlighted on the Case CCC website and social media
We need your insight on the planning committee to ensure a successful bench-to-bedside retreat! OCTER’s goal is to support you in the design, development and implementation of the retreat.
