I just signed up for VeloSano Bike to Cure, marking the second year that the Case CCC will coordinate a team. I'm hoping you will join me.
We had a great time last year, and this year should be even better, and our team even larger! I encourage you to take the time to sign up. Information about our team can be found at VeloSano.
With your help, faculty, trainees, investigators and friends can link together for this event, proudly wear the Case CCC jersey, and raise funds that we will use to support important projects. Unlike many other fundraising efforts, VeloSano will yield awards in a very short time frame, which is another good reason to get involved and show your support.
A total of 13 Cancer Center members were funded from VeloSano pilot grants this year.
Case CCC made 5 awards from VeloSano funds, and the Case Cancer Council through the Research and Innovation Fund supported another 5 applications with meritorious scores. All the funded projects are terrific, and we will hear about this outstanding research later this year when we host a symposium featuring the 5 Case CCC VeloSano awardees. We are especially pleased that we have been able to fund a greater number of pilots because of VeloSano, the Case Cancer Council Research and Innovation Fund, and other fundraising efforts this year.
All it takes is money to fund your great ideas. But, we need to supplement peer-reviewed NIH grants with philanthropic support.
So here's how you can help:
- Please join our team, either as a rider or as a virtual rider.
- We can offer ideas on how to raise the funds - but friends, neighbors, college friends and roommates, family and email contacts can all help. Like the presidential campaign, small donations will lead to a rather large pot of funds. You CAN do it!
- Bring friends, encourage your friends who ride to join us, and participate at some level.
- Join us at team fundraising events. We are hosting team meet and greets on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of the month at TOLI. Come meet the team and show your support. More information is below.
I will be doing the 100 mile ride. All of you should finish before I do!
