Aucejo is a liver transplant and hepatobiliary surgeon with a special interest in liver surgical oncology and extensive experience in treating patients with liver malignancies. Through his work at the Cleveland Clinic Liver Tumor Clinic, his multidisciplinary team has developed comprehensive screening, diagnostic, treatment, and surveillance protocols for patients with liver malignancies. A key ramification of these activities has been the establishment of a biorepository that includes liver tumor tissue, serum, saliva, and breath samples along with comprehensive databases from patients with liver malignancies. His research focuses on characterizing predictors of clinical outcomes and biomarkers in patients with primary and secondary liver malignancies. His current research collaborations with Lerner Research Institute (LRI) laboratories include liver tumor organoid and CAR-T cell developments. As Director of the Liver Cancer Program at the Cleveland Clinic, Aucejo is committed to advancing research that improves outcomes for patients with liver malignancies.
