Research Interests
The Poplawski laboratory specializes in cellular and molecular strategies for axon regeneration following spinal cord injury. We recently joined the Center for Immunotherapy and Precision Immuno-Oncology (CITI) at the Lerner Research Institute, and we are currently establishing several collaborative projects in the emerging field of cancer neuroscience. Our lab is particularly interested in the common underlying mechanisms between axon regeneration and cancer cell migration within the central nervous system. We hypothesize that an exploitation of these mechanisms can aid in the treatment of gliomas and increase long-term life expectancy of glioma patients.
