As the primary Clinical Radiation Oncologist and Director of Gynecologic Malignancies in the Department of Radiation Oncology at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation since 2013, I have treated hundreds of women with gynecologic malignancies with radiation and have been privy to the less than optimal outcomes in some of our patients due to their specific tumor biology and the decreased responsiveness of these tumor types to our standard treatment options.
