Dr. Ted Teknos earned his medical degree from Harvard Medical School and completed his otolaryngology residency at Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary/Harvard Combined Program, Boston. Dr. Teknos then moved to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where he completed a fellowship in head and neck oncology, skull base and microvascular reconstruction.

Research Interests
Dr. Teknos' research interests focus on HPV-related head and neck carcinogenesis, cancer stem cell biology and biologic predictors of tumor resistance to therapy. The impact of IL-6 overexpression on head and neck cancer behavior has been an area of particular interest of his for many years and has resulted in the use of new therapeutic combinations in the management of head and neck cancer.
