Student Vaccine Appointments this Wednesday-Sunday (April 7-11)

To Our Students,

We are pleased to share that you are among the students eligible to receive a COVID-19 vaccine this week.

(If you already have received both doses of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine, you do not need to read further.)

Case Western Reserve University and the City of Cleveland are partnering to provide COVID-19 vaccines to eligible individuals who live within the city limits. Now that the state has expanded eligibility to those 16 or older, the city has begun allowing us to provide vaccines to our own students. In addition, the state of Ohio has designated our campus as a vaccination site for Northeast Ohio college students (including ours) to receive doses before they leave for the summer.

As a result, students who have not yet received any vaccine will be able to choose among all three available options this week: Pfizer, Moderna and Johnson & Johnson (J&J). While the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines both require two doses for full effectiveness, Johnson & Johnson needs just one. You can learn more about the J&J vaccine from the Centers for Disease Control.

Below are the dates and times when each type of vaccine will be administered to Case Western Reserve students; if you have a preference among the options, please register for an appointment when that vaccine is being offered. No vaccine other than the one indicated below will be administered within that designated window.

  • Pfizer, 1st Dose: Wednesday, April 7, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday, April 10, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Pfizer, 2nd Dose: Thursday, April 8, 9 am. to 5 p.m.
  • Moderna, 1st Dose: Friday, April 9, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
  • Johnson & Johnson (1 dose only): Thursday, April 8, 5 to 8 p.m.; Friday, April 9, 2 to 8 p.m.; and Sunday, April 11, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

To schedule your appointment, fill out the online form or call 216.368.1964 on weekdays between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.

The doses will be administered at the Veale Convocation, Recreation and Athletic Center, 2138 Adelbert Road; parking in the adjacent garage is free for people getting vaccinated.

Thank you for doing your part to help keep our campus community safe.
