I - Make Me Admin

Make Me Admin is a simple application for Windows that allows standard user accounts to be elevated to administrator-level, on a temporary basis.

Department Chairs may authorize the use/installation of Make Me Admin based on the legitimate SODM business need of the requestor.

Only software for which there is an essential, direct, and legitimate SODM business need shall be obtained from only reputable sources and installed via the use of Make Me Admin.

Computers with access to clinical software systems or PHI are not eligible for the installation of Make Me Admin.

II - Changes to EMR 

axiUm is the primary EMR (Electronic Medical Record) system in use at the School of Dental Medicine. This policy is regarding changes to the configuration or behavior of the EMR itself, not access to the EMR. That is covered by the Access Request policy. Requests for UTech Dental to make changes to appointment books must come from the Scheduling Supervisor.

All requests for changes in the axiUm configuration must be made by and come directly from department chairs or the Associate Dean of Clinical Affairs via the Contact SODM IT tool.

All requests must then be approved by the Associate Dean of Clinical Affairs.

All changes must be documented appropriately in the ticketing system and the axiUm Power Admin Changes Google Sheet (where applicable) by UTech Dental.
