EAP Counseling Sessions
Employees of CWRU and their immediate family members (spouse/partner, dependents 26 and younger, parents/parents-in-law, household members) are eligible for 5 counseling sessions per issue, per year. This means employees and eligible family members can receive another authorization for sessions before the 1-year mark if they have a distinctly new presenting issue to address. Otherwise, employees and eligible family members can receive another authorization for the same presenting concern one year after their initial request. Employees and eligible family members are welcome to contact the EAP at any time to determine eligibility for a new set of sessions and/or to receive in-the-moment support from one our intake counselors. In-the-moment support services does not count towards usage of your 5 counseling sessions and can be used as needed.
BetterHelp EAP Sessions
When utilizing EAP sessions through BetterHelp, it is important to note what can count as a session. A scheduled video or phone call can be considered a session, as well as any written communication with your counselor greater than 500 characters. If you have a scheduled session during the same week you send a message greater than 500 characters, it is not considered an additional session.
