Amanda Ross is the Associate Vice President for Research, with a focus on sponsored projects administration and financial compliance. She leads the university’s enterprise strategy for pre- and post-award operations, ensuring strong stewardship of sponsored funds, alignment with sponsor and regulatory requirements, and a consistent, high-quality service model across schools and central administrative units.
Ross works closely with academic and administrative leadership to interpret and apply research policy, resolve complex compliance and financial issues, and strengthen operational alignment across the research enterprise. She contributes to institutional policy development, risk management, and process redesign, with an emphasis on transparency, accountability, and data-informed decision making. Her work also includes advancing digital transformation and modernizing systems to improve clarity, efficiency, and the overall faculty and staff experience.
Prior to this role, Ross served in several leadership positions across the institution, including Assistant Dean for Research Administration and Executive Director of Research Support in the Case School of Engineering, Assistant Dean for Research Administration in the College of Arts and Sciences, and Deputy Director for Administration in the Case Comprehensive Cancer Center. She also served as a Higher Education Manager consultant for Huron Consulting Group. She has extensive experience managing complex and multidisciplinary research portfolios, supporting major institutional initiatives, and leading organizational change to build scalable, sustainable infrastructure for research growth.
Ross holds a master’s degree in nonprofit organizations from Case Western Reserve University and a Bachelor of Arts in history with a minor in environmental policy from Bowling Green State University. She is committed to strengthening the systems, partnerships, and teams that enable research to have meaningful impact.
