Walid Jalabi is a licensing manager at the Case Western Reserve University Technology Transfer Office, where he oversees a portfolio of life sciences technologies and therapeutics. Additionally, he serves as the Director of the CWRU Technology Validation and Start-Up Fund (CTP), an Ohio Third Frontier initiative aimed at accelerating and funding the translation of promising technologies into the marketplace through Ohio startup companies. Walid also provides training and support to the licensing associates and contracts team within the office.
Walid joined Case Western Reserve University in 2010 and transitioned to the field of technology transfer in 2014, bringing a wealth of experience and expertise to his current role. He earned his PhD in Molecular and Cellular Biology from the University of Strasbourg, France, focusing his research on remyelination in the central nervous system. He furthered his expertise through postdoctoral training at the Department of Neurosciences at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner Research Institute and the Department of Pediatrics at CWRU, and was awarded fellowship grants from the National Multiple Sclerosis Society (NMSS) and the Ruth L. Kirschstein National Research Award from NIH (F32). Walid complemented his scientific background with an MBA from Ashland University’s Dauch College of Business.
Outside of work, Walid enjoys playing basketball with friends, listening to classical music, spending quality time with his family, and experimenting with cooking specialty foods.
