As of Aug. 28, the National Library of Medicine has made the Modernized Protocol Registration and Results System (PRS) the primary website for registering, viewing and editing ClinicalTrials.gov records.
- Upon login, users will see the modernized record list.
- There is an embedded “Back to Classic PRS” link at the top of the Modernized page that will take you back to the classic list view for record registration and editing.
NCT Number-assigned records containing only the Protocol Section will open by default in the Modernized PRS. Records with Results, Delayed Results, or Study Documents will open only in the Classic PRS.
Important Note: Users should employ the Classic PRS mode to:
- Review the record,
- Resolve any validation errors or warnings,
- Enter results, and
- Perform actions related to uploading documents.
Be sure to save any record changes before switching between the two sites. Additionally, certain help materials are only available on the classic PRS site.
The Modernized PRS mode is still under development, so users may see discrepancies in their study records between the classic and modernized websites as well as delays in log in and page loading. These should resolve over the next days and weeks as the modernized site is improved.
