For all systems used to apply for, attest to or upload documents associated with research projects funded by the federal government, each authorized CWRU user must have their own account.
Systems you may use where this rule applies include (but is not limited to):
- Grants.gov, eRA Commons, research.gov, Proposal Central, etc.
Accounts and passwords absolutely may not be shared among multiple users in a school, department or unit. When you attest that the contents of the submission are truthful and complete within federal systems, that system is recording that YOU are the person with the knowledge and authority to affirm what is being asked. By sharing accounts and passwords, there is a lack of clear accountability to an individual person.
The federal government has issued fines and enforcement actions against institutions where users have shared accounts. CWRU will not permit the sharing of accounts and passwords on ANY federal system.
