Ashley partners with Cleveland-area nonprofits and court systems across the state to help them use data to tell their stories. Through evaluation consultation and services, Ashley helps organizations answer questions such as:

  • Is this program operating as intended?
  • What impact are we having?
  • What aspects of our services are working well?
  • In what areas do we need improvement?

With a focus on process efficiency, Ashley develops data collection and management systems that minimize burden for clients and staff while producing quality data for effective evaluation.

Specializing in data visualization, Ashley creates static and interactive visualizations to highlight findings for a wide variety of audiences according to data visualization best practices for design and messaging.

Since joining the Begun Center in 2016, Ashley has served as an evaluator for the following:

  • Cuyahoga County High-Risk Domestic Violence Docket
  • Domestic Violence Homicide Prevention Initiative
  • Cuyahoga County Juvenile Court’s Safe Harbor Docket
  • Summit County Juvenile Court’s Restore Court
  • Collaborative to End Human Trafficking
  • Ohio's Behavioral Health/Juvenile Justice Initiative
  • Partnership for Evaluation, Research, and Implementation (PERI)

Her key interest areas include gender-based violence (particularly domestic violence, sexual violence and human trafficking), the impact of trauma, and social determinants of health.

Ashley has over 10 years of experience working in practical, applied social science research and evaluation. Prior to working at the Begun Center, Ashley was a data coordinator in the CWRU School of Medicine to evaluate interventions developed for individuals with serious mental illness and neurological disorders. Before working at CWRU, Ashley coordinated numerous research studies at the Benjamin Rose Institute on Aging focused on elder abuse/domestic violence prevention and improving the direct service workforce that serves those with physical and mental health needs in Ohio.

She earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology degree from John Carroll University and a Master of Public Health degree from Cleveland State University.
